FLEX- This week we are kicking off our FLEX times where we will be focusing on reading and math in small groups. Math in the morning from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.and reading assistance will be from 2:00-2:45 p.m.
Please have your child read daily!
Reading- We are continuing to read Because of Winn-Dixie and will be working on sequencing, character analysis, and finding central messages.
Things to do at home:
Opal learns 10 things about her mother, try sharing 10 things about yourself!
Have your child write any questions/predictions about a story they are reading at home.
Math- We are nearing the end of module 1 and are preparing to take the test on this module. Please make sure you are practicing with your child at home. Everything that has been on the homework and classwork will be covered on the end of module assessment.
Things to do at home:
Practice skip counting by 4s and 3s.
Practice multiplication tables.
Science- We are continuing to study rocks and minerals, how they are formed, and how they are classified.
Things to do at home:
Research different types of rocks
ELA- We are working on writing and punctuation for ELA. The students will be working on breaking up run-on sentences, punctuation, and proofreading.s
Things to do at home:
Practice writing and correcting sentences at home.
